At long last, the day has arrived in which I must reveal my creations
from my laboratory. My Ultimate Creation. My Magnum Opus. My...oh the
heck with it. Here's a bunch of stuff I made from my stash of Ghastlie
fabric.
NOTE: the photo resolution has been decreased to allow the photos to load more quickly
Here we see the Count checking himself in the rear view mirror as he prepares to leave the cemetery for the night. The day had been very, very warm but he had remembered to cover his steering wheel with the lovely cover that I had made for him, thus saving himself from a mighty uncomfortable drive.
Here you can see the cover right after it was made: (I made the pattern from a ready-made steering wheel cover)
EDITOR'S NOTE: My sweet hubby created the awesome photo above and it was his idea to add the rearview mirror and the count's photo...I LOVE the results!
The remaining projects were made just for the fun of it, with no recipient in mind!
The purse is from a pattern by Bagz by Lois and is called the "3 in 1 bag". The lower part is a reversible sleeve that buttons on the main bag. The main bag is all black with a grey/black lining and a recessed zipper (not shown). I added the D-rings to the handles; that is not in the pattern.
The round-petal flower is a Kanzashi flower made with a template from Clover. The center button and the four covered buttons on the purse (you can just see on in the center of Matilda's hat) were made using the i-top brad maker from imaginisce (geez...I'm beginning to sound like a commercial!) The candelabra is courtesy of my hubby, who loaned it to me for my photo shewt (he loves to collect Halloween props).
Next up is the large black flower I made (Clover Flower Frill Templates) and a pair of fabric earrings I made (my design). The flower is really difficult to see because I chose to take pictures at night instead of during the day (as a rational person would have done).
See? Aren't they great?
I just had to make a couple more small things, so here are the wristlets (Sew4home.com tutorial) and a tissue cover (Quilts and More, Fall 2009). Had to get that Kanzashi flower in the act once more.
Here are the projects all together
There is one thing I didn't get made and I am sad about it because it is all cut out and ready to sew: my lunch bag (Debbie Hogan's pattern in the book, "Lunch Bags!). However, since I still have a touch of the Ghastlie fever there is no doubt the bag will be finished!
You've all been so nice to read down this far and I'm very glad you did. I am going to give away a little prize and all you have to do to be entered for the drawing is: leave me a comment.
I will have Mr. Random Number Generator select a winner after 10PM on Nov 4th, and will post the name here on my blog on Saturday Nov 5th. This is what you will win:

Back side of the purse. I didn't turn the purse sleeve inside out to show the reversibility of it...you'll have to trust me. And yes, there were buttonholes. |
See? The flower looks like a huge, black powder puff. And see the little earrings? I have a better pic of them next. |
Totally for fun and very lightweight! |
This is something really fun AND functional: it is a set of placemat. Yep...I meant to leave the 's' off of place mat. Because it is ONE placemat with 4 sides! (Several Settings 4-Sided Placemats).
Sew Fun! You can make them in school colors or the 4 seasons or holidays or hobbies...but I'm gettin' carried away here.
Folded so you can see the 4 fabrics |
