Ahem...Ladies and Gentlemen...

The Ghastlies have taken a much-needed break for the weekend but have asked me to impart the news that they will be very much in attendance again on Monday morning (early!).  They invite you to follow along for another week of Ghastlie Goodness, Hilarious Hijinks and Indubitable Inspiration.

(What they ACTUALLY said was to tell you they're gone for the weekend but will be back Monday and they want you back here ready to rumble then.  However...well...that sounds so COMMON when spoken thusly and it's, well, totally incompatible with my outfit and solemn, somewhat haughty demeanor.
So I haughtied it up a bit.
Much better.
Don't you agree?

I know they want to sound "hip" and "with it" but really, must one give in to the...to the...to the...
I say, did you know that you have a soft, bluish vein throbbing ever so gently in the milky white curve of your neck?  Hmmmmmm...now what was I saying?  Oh nevermind.  I must be off.  Suddenly, I'm very, very hungry.

Ever so Fondly,
Count Edward

(Sebastian PLEASE.  Complete your ablutions in PRIVATE.)

Ghastlie Friday - Hop Day 5

Um, hello. I'm so sorry...you caught me in the middle of...something.  I'm Prudence Elizabeth Ghastlie.  Sometimes folks call me "Lizzie" because I remind them of someone famous (er, infamous, actually).  I prefer to be called Prudence, and that's all.  You won't upset me by calling me something else, will you?

I was instructed to welcome you to Day 5 of the Ghastlie Blog Hop.  Today, you will have another opportunity to win this:
4 yards of beautiful fabric featuring my fascinating family.
(including me. Prudence. You WILL remember to call me that now, won't you?).
All you need to do is visit the FIVE lovely Ghastlies noted above (left sidebar, October 28) and leave a comment at each blog, which will give you the opportunity of having your name drawn for the daily giveaway.
Disclaimer:  winning this fabric may give you the Ghastlie flu.

So, that's it.  How did I do?  You may want to say "You did very well, Prudence".  I would, if I were you.
Gently,
Prudence

(from Gramma Sheri: Prudence did just fine, don't you think?  Oh, and the winner for Thursday's giveaway will be announced soon...check back here later.  And have fun!)
UPDATE!
The rulers were won by
Evelyn from Mrs Sharon Ghastlies

Ghastlie Thursday - Hop Day 4

Well, here we are at the 'ol Ghastlie home place.  Sure is nice to snuggle into a cozy house when the fall winds blow.  Oh sure, things get a little, well, ODD here sometimes.  Still, there's no place like home.  Even one that needs a new roof, some weatherizing and a new coat of paint. Oh, and somebody has GOT to do something about those bats roosting in the attic (bats roost, don't they?).  Maybe that cranky maid should be sent up there to get rid of them.  Heh heh heh...

Before we get TOO snuggled in, let's take a peek at the giveaway for Day 4:
Fabulous Creative Grid rulers!
Today's Five Grand Ghastlie Bloggies are your key to winning these babies and your ticket to a whole cauldron full of Ghastlie inspiration.  Go on now and check 'em out!

Day 3 Giveaway Winners!
Sheri from Mrs Penny Ghastlies
Jackie from Mrs Karen Ghastlies..
Congrats!

Ghastlie Wednesday - Hop Day 3

I suppose YOU'RE having fun hopping all over blogland for Ghastlie inspiration and prizes.  Hmph.  SOME of us have to WORK all day and have no time for frivolous fun.  Believe me, working for those Ghastlies is NO fun at all.
<sigh>

Far be it from me, however, to stand in your way.  If you're dead set (no pun intended) on continuing with this questionable use of your time, then you'll be delighted to see that today there are SIX (6) Ghastlie blogs to visit.  I hear there will be TWO (2) winners today, each receiving this:

Yep.  More Ghastlie fabric...4 yards-worth.

One more thing:  Congrats to Cherise from Annies Ghastlie Fans.
she won the pink wheeled tote from Blue Fig

Well, chatting with you has been a real day-brightener but its back to my almost-Cinderella life.

Break a leg,
The Ghastlie Maid

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something...Autumn

Here is a little panel I made that is part of a larger project.  I love the way it turned out!

I made it out of an old tablerunner I'd made years ago (Something Old).

It is Something New to spark up the decor in my home.

I used the applique patterns from Nancy Halvorsen's "Acorn Hollow" book (Something Borrowed).

I love the 3-D leaves (see the little purple one down at the bottom?), the teeny button eyes, the Swarovski crystal nose, and the handsome, dashing whiskers (made from waxed twine...).

How about you?  Are you making something new to celebrate the colors of fall?

Happy Autumn...

Sheryl

Zipper Insanity!

So I kinda got intrigued by all the fun things you can make from zippers, and asked the owner of the LQS where I work if she would order some of the patterns and zippers for me.  She did.  I have been playing with them, making the flowers and bugs and Christmas ornaments from the patterns...pure enjoyment.  Then in a moment of insanity I decided to design my own zipper creation and settled on...a TURKEY!  Yep.  That's him right there in the picture, spindly legs and all.

Isn't it fun to be goofy once in awhile?  I think I will do it more often!  Hmmm...what else can I immortalize in a zipper sculpture?

Play like you mean it!
