A Wedding

I was among a small group of friends and family at the wedding of Denny and Billy today.  Theirs was a simple, touching and REAL wedding.  They had written their own vows and they were beautiful affirmations of love and commitment.  The officiant was their dear friend Kim, who held up pretty well during the ceremony, at least until Billy broke down a bit.  Then Kim did, Denny did and so did most of the guests.  The ceremony was held on the front porch at Denny's mother's house which is situated on a hill overlooking Benson, AZ.  It was a lovely Arizona winter day, sunny and mild, with a slight, cool breeze.  The guests were treated to a wonderful southwest dinner of tamales, freshly made tortillas and carne asada, chicken enchilada casserole, rice and chiles, and other salads, fruits and accompaniments.

It was a beautiful ceremony and I am honored to have been there to witness it and to get an opportunity to meet the people who are dear to Denny and Billy.  I wish them a lifetime of love and happy memories.

  1. I am so happy that Sheryl wrote of this wonderful occasion. Denny is a dear friend....and it is a special moment to be with her and her 'Honey' to be witness to such a wonderful time in their lives. They are true soul-mates... I wish them the best of all that this world has to offer.... Much Love, Laughter and Joy

  2. Thanks so much for writing such nice things about our wedding. And thanks to JMS (GiGi's mom) for her nice comment. It really was a special day and we were very lucky that all of you traveled to attend and that the weather was so nice. What a fun time.
